What is Workforce Planning? General Information

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services Human Resources Enterprise delivers workforce planning services through the following service delivery methods:

  • By developing tools and resources to be customized by state agencies to their specific needs – In particular, see the State of Iowa Workforce Planning Guide below
  • By participating in partnerships with other states to identify and become familiar with best practice information to pass along to state agencies – See Links to other Workforce Planning sites below, particularly the link to the National Association of State Personnel Executives’ (NASPE) workforce planning website
  • By presenting workforce planning workshops and other workforce planning information to state agencies – See the note on Workforce Planning Workshops below
