Over 400 charitable agencies benefit from One Gift donations. These agencies offer much-needed assistance to Iowans in virtually every city and rural area in the state.
You can specify which charitable agencies will receive your One Gift donation and direct your donation to specific communities in the state.
A Message from the Governor and Lt. Governor
"State employees have always been known for their dedication to helping others and we are able to continue this great tradition by becoming involved in the ONE GIFT Campaign. The ONE GIFT Campaign has always been extremely successful, and we are certain that this year will be no exception.
The theme for this year’s campaign is “Iowans helping Iowans: Together we can make a difference.” With this year’s historic flooding, we have seen the real generosity of all Iowans and we cannot think of a better theme. People are opening their homes, making donations and contributions, and volunteering their time to assist those who have been set back by the floods.
We are grateful for the hospitality and the help with the floods, but at the same time, we are mindful of many other organizations and charities that continue to need our help. This year, more than ever, these organizations need our help. With the declining economy and the devastation from the storms, unfortunately our charities are feeling the impact of less funding. By donating as little as $1 from your check per pay period, you will enable us to assist many organizations throughout Iowa again this year.
The ONE GIFT campaign draws its strength from a common goal, but it allows each employee to direct contributions to their favorite charities. We urge you to continue to represent our great state’s generosity by making a contribution.
We will be making our personal donations to ONE GIFT, and we encourage all of you to join us in this worthy cause."

2009 Campaign
The theme of the One Gift Campaign is Iowans Helping Iowans: Together We Can Make A Difference.
With the number of natural disasters the state has experienced in 2008, the need to assist our fellow Iowans has never been greater. Many of the One Gift agencies provide direct aid to storm and flood victims. In nearly every county, there are a number of not-for-profit agencies providing a variety of services to meet the needs of our families, friends and all Iowans. In this time of great need, state employees are challenged to make a difference.
The One Gift Campaign will be held from October 1, 2008 through October 31, 2008. A contribution is made through the convenience of payroll deduction – either as a one-time deduction or spread throughout the year.
This year the One Gift campaign’s goals is $534,717.00, which is $17,155.00 higher than last year’s goal. Iowans will once again stand up to the challenge. This year, the needs of our fellow Iowans are many.
Supporting Governor Culver’s “Green Government Initiative,” the One Gift pledge form is on the DAS website. You can obtain the pledge form on-line, print it, and give your completed form to your One Gift Liaison.
