STATISTICAL RESEARCH ANALYST 2

DEFINITION

Performs journey level professional work in the obtaining, compiling, evaluating and reporting of statistical data; performs related work as is required.

WORK EXAMPLES

Performs professional research statistical work and uses the information obtained in planning, developing or improving various programs.

Performs special research in connection with advanced statistical problems; determines types, sources and methods of obtaining data; designs questionnaires and determines distribution; corrects, adjusts, and interprets statistical data in accordance with accepted formulas.

Prepares or directs the preparation of comprehensive reports of statistical evaluations and recommendations based thereon.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelorís Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics, and experience equal to two years of statistical analysis or economic research work;

OR

an equivalent combination of experience and education substituting one year of the required experience for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education to a maximum substitution of four years;

OR

graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masterís Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics;

OR

employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as a Statistical Research Analyst 1.

SELECTIVE CERTIFICATION

For designated positions the appointing authority, with Iowa Department of Administrative Services Ė Human Resources Enterprise prior approval, may request those applicants possessing a minimum of twenty semester hours of education, two years of experience or a combination of education and experience in the following:
