STATISTICAL RESEARCH ANALYST 2
DEFINITION
Performs journey level professional work in the
obtaining, compiling, evaluating and reporting of statistical data; performs
related work as is required.

WORK EXAMPLES
Performs advanced standard or research statistical
work and uses the information obtained in planning, developing or improving
various programs.
Performs special research in connection with advanced
statistical problems; determines types, sources and methods of obtaining data;
designs questionnaires and determines distribution; corrects, adjusts, and
interprets statistical data in accordance with accepted formulas.
Prepares or directs the preparation of comprehensive
reports of statistical evaluations and recommendations based thereon.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIAL
REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an accredited college or
university with a Masters Degree in statistics, mathematics, or economics;
OR
graduation
from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by twelve
semester hours of college course work in statistics, mathematics, or economics,
and experience equal to two years of work involving responsible statistical
analysis or economic research;
OR
graduation
from an accredited four-year college or university and experience equal to
seven years of work involving responsible statistical analysis or economic
research;
OR
graduation
from high school or G.E.D. and a combination of qualifying education and
experience to total eleven years;
OR
employees
with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that
includes the experience equal to eighteen months of full-time work as a
Statistical Research Analyst 1.
For designated positions the appointing
authority, with Iowa Department of Administrative Services – Human Resources
Enterprise prior approval, may request those applicants possessing a minimum of
twenty semester hours of education, two years of experience or a combination of
education and experience in the following:
