IowaBenefits is an online, web-based enrollment system that allows you to enroll in health and dental benefits or make qualified life event changes throughout the year and during the annual enrollment period.

IowaBenefits has been expanded to all state-sponsored health and dental plans. Active State of Iowa employees who will be selecting a new medical plan or updating their current dental coverage by adding eligible family members for 2008 should use IowaBenefits to make those changes. Please see your Personnel Assistant for logon information.

Qualified Life Events

When you enroll in health, dental and life insurance, your elections will remain in effect to the end of the calendar year. You cannot make any changes until the next enrollment and change period unless you experience a qualified life event and the benefit change you request is consistent with the event.

Optional Benefits Provided Through Payroll Deductions

Optional insurance coverage not provided under the current employee benefit package is available to State of Iowa employees. The State of Iowa does not endorse or sponsor any vendor, or the products and services they provide. Premiums for insurance policies, not offered by the State of Iowa, are paid through post-tax payroll deductions. To review the available optional benefits, click on the following link.
