- review basic mathematical principles
- write a word name for a number in standard or decimal notation
- calculate using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without
calculators
- translate percent problems into a standard model with specific
application
- solve percent problems
- solve problems dealing with an unknown
- use estimation techniques to check reasonableness of results
- calculate simple and compound interest
- identify the steps involved in and develop a budget projection
